Transporting 65 tons of energy equipment across the Pacific

With no dedicated charters available, we got to work on an alternative solution.

We recently assisted Air Charter Service’s cargo division with a last-minute request: transporting 65 tons of machinery from China to an energy project in Tennessee. Due to the urgency of the case and low charter availability caused by unrest in the Middle East, our logistics specialists set about finding another way of delivering the shipment.

Our Solution

Route: Shanghai > Chicago

Service: Next flight out

Our experts advised sending the shipment to Chicago instead of Tennessee, as the airport there could facilitate a smoother, more cost-effective handling process. Working quickly, we confirmed a ‘next flight out’ solution later that day, splitting the cargo between 20 scheduled services departing over several days.

We leveraged our offices around the world to provide 24-hour operational support, with teams collaborating across different time zones to monitor every take-off and arrival. The full shipment of energy equipment was delivered well ahead of the customer’s deadline, enabling operations to continue without a hitch.

The Finer Details

Global Network: Several of our regional teams worked together on this urgent shipment, ensuring a smooth process from start to finish.

Unrivalled Flexibility: We liaised closely with the client and airlines to accommodate multiple changes to the packing list at short notice.
