We originally arranged to dispatch the servers on the next available cargo flight, repacking them from large pallets into the smaller cartons required for the route in question.
However, an urgent change of plan was needed when we were told the shipment contained lithium batteries. Hazardous goods like this have to meet strict shipping requirements, which wasn’t possible within our tight timeframe.
With express freight services no longer an option, we instead dispatched an onboard courier to transport the servers as checked baggage on a commercial flight.
Each carton was fitted with a tracking device beforehand to ensure it flew securely in the hold. Upon arrival in Anchorage, our hand-carry agent then collected the cargo and handed it over to the client on time.
