With such a large volume of cargo coming from different locations at different times, it was impossible to transport it all in one go. Instead, our teams in Frankfurt and Houston worked together on a rolling ‘next flight out’ (NFO) solution over a period of several days.
Staying in close contact with the shipper, we reacted quickly to collect pallets from the different distributors as soon as they were ready, before trucking them to Shanghai and dispatching them on the next flight out to Mexico.
Careful planning was essential for a smooth operation. The cargo was flying via Frankfurt, so we liaised with the airline to ensure each load was handled swiftly and made the connecting flight. We also utilised our partners in China and Mexico to assist with customs clearance.
After nine days of daily NFOs, all of the automotive parts successfully reached the factory in Mexico, keeping the client’s production line moving when they needed it most.
